Maya Khosla, Sonoma County Poet Laureate,, invites readers to find themselves in the wild, even in the most challenging times in her book All the Fires of Wind and Light. Drawing from personal history, ancestry, and explorations ranging from the Bay of Bengal to the Sierra Nevada, the Cascade Mountains, and beyond, Khosla takes readers into worlds that are all but hidden–among “the best-kept secrets of our forests”–and sometimes all but lost.

Barbara Swift Brauer  author of Rain, Like A Thief explores the identity of self through time, relationship, and the natural world. “Nothing remains / in the old containers,” she tells us at the end of this stunning second collection, an observation of the physical world that serves as a description of the poems themselves.

Camille Norton, author of A Folio for the Dark, a rich debut collection from a promising new poet selected by Campbell McGrath as a winner of the 2004 National Poetry Series Open Competition.
